Age of Schumann & Sons piano
on: August 13, 2011, 08:49:42 PM
I've just gotten an antique Schumann & Sons New York piano that belonged to my grandfather. The serial # I found under the cover is 10299. I'm not sure how to find out when it was manufactured because I can't seem to find much of anything on Schumann & Sons on the internet. Hope someone can help. Thanks!

Schumann # 10299 is an early one; # 34000 is 1905 and this company lists 1000 units per yr at that point, so early 1880’s for you there.

If you think it's is expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur.
