Pathetique mov 2
on: August 23, 2011, 09:05:12 PM
Hello again.

This time, I'll bring a piece that is far from finished. I've played this piece for couple of days, so there are some obvious errors, but apart from that...

I'd like to know what you think about it! :) The rest of the sonata will come as soon as I fix my grand, or find some other place to record.

And oh, I haven't got any program for cutting audio files, and I took some time before I started playing.. It starts like 20 secs in :)

Beautiful!, I think your interpretation is very good.  And you can play so well with a couple of days!

I am a simple amateur and currently I am working with inventio 2 of Bach, if I could play like you in a couple not of days but weeks I'll be very happy.

Again thanks for your interpretation.

Thank you for your comments :)

My teacher thought it was too much rubato, and to quiet...

Anyone else?

Perhaps your teacher has been referring to that hesitating you often do before beginning the next phrase or measure. I am also not a friend of this. It interrupts the flow of the music. Real rubato wouldn't interrupt the flow, as ist consists of slight accelerandi and ritardandi, and not of a sort of "stop and go".

Apart from this I think you are on a good path with this work.

What is it that needs to be fixed on your grand?

I hear a lot of damper noise, perhaps you might want to place the microphone a bit farther away from the piano. I used to not like damper noise on recordings at all. This has changed slightly, I sometimes actually like it now, but here I hear too much of it.

Yeah, that's probably it... But that's part of the fact that I don't know the piece yet :P But I will probably go more straight on when I know it better. I kind of always start big, then go small after a while. So thanks for the listening :)

Well, as you can('t) hear, the f3 has only one string left. Since both the first and third movements has got most of it's highlights on that f, I don't want to record something where you can't hear one of the most important note :P Also the damper. It squeeks every time I use it. And some notes has got some really weird noices, which sounds very unhealthy. But the tuner will come tomorrow, and he should be able to fix it...

Again, thanks for listening and commenting.
