Leslie Howard improvising!
on: September 01, 2011, 06:48:31 PM
Heard that he is an outstanding improviser and that he can improvise fluently on an unseen theme in general.
Anybody heard him improvise?
Any recordings?

I haven't! LH has made about 100 CD's of the music of Liszt however!

I found a couple of clips where he is improvising but nothing really outstanding.

I bet the urge to improvise the umpteenth transcription of some obscure and forgotten opera for disk 73 rather than reading the sheet music was hard to resist, I mean, who's gonna know?
