Pianostreet Colours
on: September 10, 2011, 06:31:10 PM
I love this forum.. However, I do find the black background and gold lettering to be a real struggle for my eyes.

Is anyone giving any thought to this?

Am I the only one who feels this way?

I can read all well, but the colors are a bit too depressing for me.
studying:

Beethoven sonata no. 1 op. 2
Bach Prelude and Fugue in g-major, WTCII
Schumann fantasie stucke op.12 (no. 1,2)

Having a black background with light letters is the most cost efficient layout for a website, and an increasing number of websites are starting to use it, especially with all of the global warming craze and the movement toward being "green".

I didn't know that. My colour did not have anything to do with the environment. It's jsut my favourite colour.

I actually think it was at one point, a really long time ago. Do any of you know what I'm talking about because I remember finding this site about 5 or 6 years ago when I was 8. 'I think' it was called piano street and it had all of the same general features. Do any of you remember? It may have been another piano site though, I don't know.

Don't worry littletune. it's nice to change once in a while I think we should keep these colors but if ya'll are going to experiment go ahead and do it. ;)

I don't think it is possible because I checked a while ago in my settings there is no such think for changing background colours of pianostreet. Some guy mentioned a white background with black letters.

I love the color scheme here at Pianostreet.  I find it very easy on the eyes.  Staring at a light colored background can get tiresome if reading for lengthy periods.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

That's true. :)

For you but not for me. I find that I can adapt to whatever colour scheme there is.

This is my first post.  I find it very difficult to read the posts here because of the black background, the gold lettering, and the small characters.

I too joined this forum with the purpose of commenting about the colors. I'm able invert screen colors on my computer, changing the black/gold to white/blue, but that becomes annoying after a while (and makes images/videos hard to watch). It seems as if the forum software used here allows users to choose themes (https://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Themes_and_Layout), but that feature needs to be enabled, which, as far as I can tell, it is not currently -- correct me if I'm wrong, I'm obviously very new here.
