It's an exam recital , so i'll be also marked on my choice of interpretation etc. Right now i am afraid i don't have the required knowledge to make up my own interpretation of this piece. Hence the need to find out what influenced brahms while composing this piece. Ive been told to listen to these two recordings. i will probably take a bit of martha's and a bit of rubinstein ideas. But i'd like to know what other people think of their interpretation. If i new all these informations i probably wouldn't have asked for help in a forum

Why not? just play it and feel it, and it will be yours, i prefer Rubinstein @ this piece, but TRY to make your own interpretation... Good luck

You are not answering the question. My issue right now is that i need guidance in the Interpretation. Else i would definitely totally interpret it myself.
Ok, the question might be too complicated to understand. I will simplify it.
