Chopin - Ballade No. 4 in f minor
on: September 28, 2011, 03:22:04 PM
Hi there Audition room!
Here is me playing this ballade. I've been fiddling around with it during the summer just for fun, and since the end of July I have been practising it from time to time. I've only had maybe two lessons on this piece with my teacher so far, since we have a lot of different stuff to prepare. But I love this piece so much, and I want to be able to play it as well as possible, but we haven't got much time on the lessons so it was a while since I got feedback.
So that is why I am posting it here! I need to continue working on this piece on my own a bit so any and all feedback on what you like, what you think I should do differently, suggestions on how I should practise bits you think need improvement etc. is enormously appreciated.
Technically and musically it's not quite there yet, I certainly have to continue my practise routines on the different parts of this piece; this is how it would sound if I tried to perform this piece today.
Thanks in advance for any comments!

Hi Lelle, Its pretty obvious this piece is in its early stages. So ill only mention kind of a long term approach on it. You seem like your technique is solid enough. This is my thought. There are an awful lot of notes and they kind of bunch together at times. Keep them clear. Play clearly . Make sure no matter how fast or how big the chords are the notes stand out clearly. Perhaps it was that God awful recording , but what you played kind of mushed together in a blur of sound. Which is Ok. You have barely started this piece. Im just giving you what I think needs to be your long term Goal. Like I said your technique seems equal to the task. Please post again as you get further along with this.
