Why did you remove your recording? As  many of us (I think) I was waiting to have the time to listen with the due attention to it... So please, post it again!!!

The reason of this silence, perhaps, is that Rev etude is such an "abused" piece: IMO the forumeers in general are sick to listen to yet another performance, most of them  painfully amateurish, or simply  horrible,   of this kind of repertoire.  (But somehow I feel it's not your case)...
If my experience can soothe you, I posted my daugthers' video of Debussy Arabesque almost a week ago, getting 0 reply, and I lost  any hope to get one!!!

I can understand your disappointment, but, please, don't get upset.
Maybe your performance will find constructive criticism,  helpful advices, or harsh comments (sometimes worse than silence, bust nonetheless very useful, too).

Just my two cents to encourage a newbye...
Cheers

Hi Kelly,

I very much enjoyed your recording of the "Revolutionary Etude".  You play it with a wonderful touch while displaying fine agility too.  Your artistic playing is both lyrical and fiery in this piece.  I also like your very effective shadings and contrasts in dynamics.  Overall I believe it's a thoughtful, exciting and beautiful rendition.  Thanks for sharing it with us here.

The last time I played this etude was a long time ago, but I recall and well appreciate the challenges there.

Hi Kelly,
BRAVA!!!!
A wonderful performance, I subscribed to all Rachfan's comments: right tempo, fine dynamics, great thecnique  but very musical too.
You sure are an accomplished pianist.
Thank you, and please, post more of your performances!

Wow, bravo! I would be very proud of myself if I played it as you did! Sometimes the long melody notes were overshadowed by the busy LH, but it may just be the recording and not actually how it was in the room at the time.

Great job!

I want to thank the kind words i received from those who commented here. Now if I could get the same comments out of my professors, that would really be nice :).

Thanks again for taking the time to listen and post a comment.

I really like your playing of this. You play it as if it means something to you. In stark cries from the heart like this one, 25/11 and Scriabin's 42/5, the cosmic ship is suddenly adrift, the universe rips at the seams and the skeletons win the game. Most players play it as if they are showing the parson how they got their degrees.

I am rarely moved by classical music these days and do not get on with  most of the classical musicians I have met, but this recording said something I responded to. Never lose that primal spirit in the morass of academic and competitive twaddle and you will get even more out of it in thirty years' time.

Hi Ted: thank you so much for the kind words, and for your wonderful description on how you see this piece, and for the advice about musical academia. :).

I actually changed my approach to this piece and to so many of the pieces I play in the last few years. This etude used to be a race to me, just to see how fast I could get through it. No more. Now I luxuriate in the sounds. I enjoy it, I let it engulf me as I play. Its like I paint a canvas of music. I no longer care how long it takes to play it and almost feel a sadness at the conclusion as if I'm leaving Chopin's wonderful world of musical texture and returning to a rather drab normal existence. I try and play all my pieces like that now. My speed races and showing off my technique are a thing of the past. All I wish to show off now are my artistic skills.

Thanks again for your gracious comments on my efforts.

Hi Kelly,

I took the buzz out of this one too.  There was also a strange distorted prolongation of the last note along with faint voices, so I deleted that from the recording.  Sounds much better.  Now you can just download, upload, and delete the original.  :)

Wow!
I've never played this piece, but I've listened to many recordings of it... and I really enjoyed your performance. I listened to it twice  :) I love it (and wish I could play this well (: )

I'm looking forward to more of your posts in the audition room ...

Hi Kelly,
for your recording problems,  maybe you can try  Zoom Q3, the video-recorder I’m using at the moment: not expensive, and very good IMO (of course, if you are not looking for a highly sophisticated, professional device). Here is the link  www.zoom.co.jp/english/products/q3/.
