The treble side didn't come out too good on the mic but I decided to keep it anyway.

Hi Josiah,

thank you for posting such a nice performance of Brahms: tricky piece, tricky composer...but BRAVO!!!!
IMO you are really talented: good techinque, and above all, such an  astounding musicality for your age!
I hope you post more videos/recordings, it'll be a joy to watch/listen to them.
With alla my heart, I wish you good luck!

Margherita

Wow, thank you so much, Margherita. You are a great encouragement to me. As soon as I posted this video to YouTube I got two "dislikes" almost immediately and it made me think-- 'oh no, everyone hates it'. I appreciate your kind words.

Hi again. Don't put to much stock in Youtube. Most people there just don't know very much , nor can they tell very much watching a youtube Video. Your a little stiff with some of your movements on this , but its very nice. Plus I hadn't realized your only 14. You do great. Of course now that I'm all grown up being 23 and all (LOL) :) I can look back to when I was 14 and wish I had your composure  at the Key Board.

Now seriously , being only 14 you might need parents or older friends or teachers for help in this, but its worth it. Get out as much as you can and play on different Piano's. Good pianos , crummy piano's , all kinds of pianos. It is a said fact that only the top of the line pianist's get to play on the instruments they want to play on. The rest of us poor souls show up for a recital or performance or whatever and just hope and pray the piano is reasonably regulated , is in tune, doesn't have any sticking keys and the pedals don't squeak. I mention all that because of you mentioning have to adjust to a new piano. At school we have instruments in some of the practice rooms, that look like pianos, but that is about it.

Anyway hope you get the idea. Love your playing ignore the bozo's on youtube and keep up the great playing.

Kelly
Current recital pieces
Chopin Fantasy Impromptu
Prokofiev Tocatta in D minor op 11
Schubert Wanderer Fantasy
Chopin Ballade in G Minor
Mendelssohn 2nd piano concerto

You play this beautifully, and thank you for posting your performance.

You may want to consider getting A Rhode NT microphone - this is especially deigned for recording acoustic instruments - since you get a stereo pair - so that you can record bass and treble simultaneously.
