Guidance and advice please
on: October 31, 2011, 09:17:10 PM
I recently decided that I am going to focus entirely on piano and learn everything about it that I can. I have no concrete goals, mostly due to just wanting to learn everything. I'm 22 and the hardest song I can play is rach prelude op 3 no 2. I just recently learned how to play the 2nd part fluidly and while playing it a few days ago I realized that my fingers knew that they could do so much more. Since that moment I can't do anything but play piano or listen to classical music. Everything else seems bland. (Unfortunate side effect is that my previously mildly entertaining computer programming job has turned into purgatory.. just waiting to be at the piano again)
Anyway, I don't want this to turn into a "Is 22 too young to learn" thread. I don't care what you think about my age. What I would like is advice on how to proceed. I am currently taking piano lessons (just started up again actually). Next spring I'm thinking of going to college to focus on music and hopefully find places to practice performing and accompanying.
I've heard a lot about pedagogy programs, should I look into that? I'm willing to go anywhere in the world to learn. Edit: When I save I've heard a lot, I mean I've heard about them a lot, but I really have no idea what they're like.
If anyone has advice on this please let me know!
Edit: If I came across as arrogant I apologize, I've just never been this sure about anything in my life, ever.

Hey Archi,
I just wanted to jump in to say hi. I'm not that familiar with what a pedagogy school is outside that I believe it's where to go study theory and teaching.
I'm self taught so I'm not that versed in all realms of music...
