[FranKiisko] {My perfomances}
on: November 13, 2011, 08:01:26 PM
Hi everybody! I wanted to post a piece that I played with my friend Carolina, five months ago. We plaied together the Four hands adaptation of "Le Carnaval des animaux" from Lucien Garban.

It's divided in two parts beacause of the duration.

Here you have the piece. (There are me and my friend, Carolina. She plays the high notes and I do play the low notes. My teacher turn the pages)

I'd like to know your opinion about the perfomance. Thank you very much! :D

Part 1:

Part 2:

PD: Sorry for my english. I'm not a native speaker.

Mendelssohn - Rondo Capriccioso [My perfomance]
Reply #4 on: November 21, 2011, 08:29:19 PM
This is my interpretation of "Rondo Capriccioso" from Felix Mendelssohn. It's a big and fantastic piece and I'd like you to watch my perfomance.

Yes, I've yet posted this video, but i've posted this here too because I want to have a section with all my compositions, as an album :)

The image's quality is bad, but the sound's quality is rather acceptable.

So, thank you for watching this video and I hope you like it!

PD: Please, leave a comment! ;)

Mendelssohn - Scherzo Op16 #2 [My perfomance]
Reply #5 on: November 30, 2011, 03:20:32 PM
Hi everyone! This is my perfomance of "Scherzo" or "Caprice" (it has both names) of the Mendelssohn's op 16 piece. It's the second piece of the three piece that this opus has.

It's a fast and short piece. It was very funny and interesting to play this piece because it has a difficul part just in the middle of the piece that is very impressive for the audience.

Here you have the video of my perfomance. Thank you for watching, and enjoy it! :)

The visual quality of this video is bad, but the sound is quite acceptable.

Bach - Invention 14 in B♭ Major [My perfomance]
Reply #6 on: December 10, 2011, 02:50:40 PM
Hi everyone! :)

I have decided to post my interpretation of the Invention number 14 in B flat Majeur composed by Johann Sebastian Bach.

This video was recorded three years ago.

It's a short but very nice piece. It has a pretty melody that is being repeated in both hands. It's the invention number fourteen of the fifteen inventions that Bach composed.

Thank you very much for watching and I hope you like it! ;)

I've never heard the Mendelssohn rondo capriccio but just wanted to say that it was worth hearing it and thouroughly enjoyed it. Definitely a great piece.

Yeah, haha! It's one of the hardest pieces I've ever played (until now) and I really enjoyed that piece and that concert.

Thank you very much, pianoplayjl!  :)

Jensen - Étude 8 [My perfomance]
Reply #9 on: December 24, 2011, 02:49:13 PM
Hi to everyone!  :)

I wanted to post this video. It's the "Étude VIII" from Jensen, played by me.

It's a minor mode piece and not very slow. It's the only piece that I've played (for the moment) from this lord (Adolf Jensen)

The video has some irregularities, but you can watch it perfectly. Video quality is very good and audio quality is quite good, too.

Thank you for watching!  :D

Now, I'd like to post this video of the piece "First Story" composed by André Waignein and interpretated by a friend and me.

This is a video two years ago.

Don't worry if at the beggining it seems a little soporific piece, it becomes strong as it avances!  :)

The visual quality of this video is rather horrible, but the sound quality is quite good.

Thank you to everyone for watching it and a Happy New Year!  ;D

PD: Sorry for my bad english  :-[

Now, i'm going to post "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from the suite Peer Gynt op 46 composed by the norwegian Edvard Grieg.

This piece was played by my friend Natalia (who plays high notes) and me (who plays low notes) It's a piece which I love. We have recorded it with a very very good image quality and a good sound quality. This piece makes me to want to play more pieces from Grieg, because this one is incredible (maybe, i should play all the suite op 46... that could be perfectly one of my future projects ^_^)

It's the only piece i've played from Edvard Grieg, this norwegian composer; but i've liked it so much that I think I will play more of his pieces.

I hope you like it  ;D

Carbajo - El españolito (Selection) [My perfomance]
Reply #12 on: January 18, 2012, 10:25:17 PM
Hi everyone  :P

This week I'm going to show you a very particular piece: "El españolito" (The little Spaniard) composed by Victor Carbajo.

It's a set of 60 variations over the national Spain's anthem. The variations represent some different musical period, different composers, musical styles etc.

These were 60 variations but as it was too long I've had to do a selection with my 24 favourites variations and I played them in a concert. Here it's the variations' order:

1(I. Density) 2(II. Boogie-Boogie Claxon) 3(III. Danza Alemana) 4(IV. Mozart Allegro) 5(V. Giga) 6(VI. Mozart Lento) 7(VII. Invención) 8(VIII. Polonesa Coja) 9(X. Marcello)
10 (XI. Disminuidos) 11 (XII. Chino) 12 (XIII. Rock & Roll) 13(XV. Beethoven Patético) 14(XVI. Strepitoso) 15(XVII. Clouseau) 16(XVIII. Polka) 17(XIX. Zortzico)18 (XX. Calypso) 19(XXV. ValSchumann) 20(XXVI. Turco) 21(XXVII. Vals Brahms) 22(XXVIII. Nyman) 23(XXX. Williams) 24(XXI. Blues)

Victor Carbajo is an actual spanish composer not very famous but he has some very ingenious pieces like this one.

I hope you like it! Thank you for watching! :)

Now, I post the next piece, the "Gnossienne 1"  :)

It was the first of a set of 7 pieces (the last four were composed in different years) composed by the french Erik Satie.

The thing that attracted more my attention while I was studying this piece, was the Satie's expressivity marks on the score. In this sheet, for example, we can find expressive marks like these: "Sur la langue" (on the tip of the tongue), "Du bout de la pensée" (from the tip of the thought) or "Postulez en vous-même"(wonder about yourself). Annotations so strange like these are very frequents in Satie's pieces and there are others very more stranges. For exemple, I remember I saw in on of his works (I think it was "La piège de Méduse") the mark: "Un signe vous observe"; and the meaning of that is "a monkey is looking to you) LOL!!

I have played this piece before (five years ago) and I remembered it with affection, so I decided to make a record. The tempo is about 44bpm (Satie indicate "Lent" in his work, which means that the interpretation must to be from 40 to 60bpm) except parts in which expressive marks suggest to reduce the speed. Like for exemple "Pas à pas" (Step by step)

I hope you like my perfomance. Thank you very much!  ;)
