on: November 14, 2011, 03:49:56 PM
recording session November 12, 2011

this is an unedited recording. take 1 of the first movement, and take 2 of movements 2 and 3.

Mvt. 1.

Mvt. 2 & 3.

the sound is compressed in these videos, but I think it is better when you select "480p" as your resolution.

Thanks for the link and posting this wonderful performance.  Very impressive.  I always think some pianists play the opening of the Rondo like a dirge - but you manged to keep the theme consistently joyous -

When a search is in progress, something will be found.

Only had time to listen to first mvt. Very nice!  You kept a very strong energy going through the whole piece, and I look forward to listening to the rest later.  Thanks!

I learned this piece in 2007, and only now do I feel somewhat secure when performing it.

Hello... :)

May I just say that I loved the way you articulate the piece in a clear,
confident and melodious way that makes listening more enjoyable.
THANKS.

I have always loved this composition since decades ago and the melody started
to be played in my mind over and over again practically 24/7 when my son was
practicing it this year with the purpose of playing it in a national competition here.
He finally chose another Beethoven sonata.

While your playing is very nice, I think my only complaint is that it is exactly what I expected it to be. A conventional Beethoven sonata played in a conventional way, not a bad thing at all, but also not very compelling.

I think you could take more liberty in dynamics and rhythm with the second theme of the exposition. It's quite a fantastic melody in that it's all stepwise and simple, but he has some "revolutionary" chord progressions within it.

Fluid phrasing and convincing change in dynamics throughout the piece. Nicely played.

Best wishes,
