MIDI cable - AB type
on: November 18, 2011, 05:39:27 PM
Hi All,

Am looking to hook up my laptop with my Yamaha keyboard.  For whatever reason, am finding it hard to find the cable the manual references, which is a USB/ab type.  Have checked with local music store, radio shack, guitar center all with no luck.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Check it doesn't need drivers otherwise there's not much to say.

It's not specifically for MIDI.  It's just the same as used to hook up a printer or any other large USB device.  Radio Shack should have it, or a computer store, but not necessarily with audio gear.  They will also charge some ridiculous price for what it is, but what can you do?

What you are looking for is a USB a/b cable.  If you do not already have a MIDI cable to connect your keyboard to your MIDI interface, you should also get one of those.  A USB cable and MIDI cable are two separate things.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
