Facebook Viruses
on: November 22, 2011, 04:45:41 PM
Hey, I'm not trying to scare anyone out of using Facebook but I just thought people should know what's been happening and know not to use Facebook without a Anti-Virus software.
What happened to me, was all I did was log in and it infected my Mom's computer
.
It pretends to be two things 1) AV Protector and 2) Microsoft Security Center. Just trying to warn people. Also, my stepdad has had post saying "get a free Ipad" and he didn't post those.
Just be careful right now.

Yes it's obvious that facebook has got many severe security issues and they apparently can't keep up with resolving these, so everybody's awareness is strongly recommended! Today I even encountered a site where hackers have used the photos of a person and created not only that one but also 4 or even many more other dubious fake profiles under her name!

My aunt has actually encountered a scam with that kind of logic. What they did, was they made a different account, and somehow it was on your friends list (their hackers, don't know how they do it but they do) and say they are in a foreign country and they were mugged and they need you to wire them money. When that happened we were actually smart enough to call the person and got confirmation that they were in fact at work and in their home country.
