Tchaikovsky's concerto No.1
on: September 09, 2004, 04:59:39 AM
Does anyone know of any websites that I can download an mp3(or whatever) of this being performed?

Even a short clip of it will be helpful.

Thanks

I've only heard the well known famous moments in the piece, it could be 1 minute or 100 for all I know.

The "well known famous moments" of the piece we hear in movies a lot are the first 2 minutes of the first movement.  The whole piece is really quite phenomenal.  Go here:

https://www.classicalarchives.com/live/t.html#TCHAIKOVSKY

scroll down until you see "Piano Concerto No.1 in Bb, Op.23"
-There you can LISTEN to it, but cannot download live recordings from this site.

If you want to download a MIDI, go here:

https://www.classicalarchives.com/tchai.html

scroll down until you find it, and rightclick on the ones with "MIDI" printed next to them.  You will need to register as a free guest.  On this site you can download 5 MIDIs a day.

I can download pretty much any classical piece of music from the classicalarchives.com

I was asking if anyone had any favourites that they would recommend me download.

What kind of pieces have you tackled so far?

You should download recordings that are pieces that you are currently trying to learn. So that you can get an insight of how it is should be played.

                                       OR,

just download any piece that you enjoy; simple as that.

P.S: Whoa you are able to download anything. :o
That's AWESOME!

I've downloaded the pieces that I'm working on at the moment (except Hammerklavier as it's not there for some reason)

I got Liszt's Un sospiro and is it me or is it really bad playing?

Have a listen: https://www.classicalarchives.com/m/free/024/Liszt_Etude_D_Flat.mp3

I can play it better than that and I only got the sheet music the other day.
