Obviously you'll notice that the composers are very rarely heard (sorry about that) and I want to bring them to attention. Maybe a few may jump out as you read along the extensive list.

Nice poll! I choose Korngold, Ornstein and Thalberg.

Edit:
My honorable mentions would have to be:
Blumenfeld
Lourie
Henselt

I choose lyapunov, Thalberg and Catoire. Honorable mentions include Alkan, Henselt and Ornstein. Thank you for calling it a nice poll. I never expected this poll to be popular anyway. Most of the names I got from Ytube Hexameron channel. Most of thse are 20th century atonal works and many people of the music world have not heard of the name. Though atonal some of them are masterpieces. It would have been wonderful if there wre more 20th century tonal composers.

There must be hundreds of them, that wisely rejected all that atonal bollox.

We even have 21st Century tonal composers.

And hundreds that stupidly took that road to atonality apart from a few composers that made very good atonal music. Surely there must be some atonal music you like? I wasn't aware of much tonal music in the 20th century while typing this thread up.

Thank you, Willpiano!I too like Blumenfeld and Henselt's music particularly his PC and Etude op 2 no 1. I'm not sure about Lourie because his music sounds a bit atonal. Hmmm.....perhaps my honourable mentions are going to have to be:

Alkan
Balakirev
Godowsky.

I find that it is mainly tonal music that intrigues particularly early romantics though I don't know much about the standard composers and repertoire. Shame.

i.e. Karl Jenkins, i thought this little blip was interesting,

"...Karl Jenkins

Dr. Karl Jenkins CBE OBE
 B.Mus., F.R.A.M., A.R.A.M., L.R.A.M., F.R.W.C.M.D. F.T.C.C.

A recent exhaustive survey shows that Karl Jenkins is now the most performed living composer in the world. Educated at Gowerton Grammar School, Cardiff University and the Royal Academy of Music, London, The Armed Man: A Mass For Peace alone has been performed nearly 1000 times in 20 different countries since the CD was released while his recorded output has resulted in seventeen gold and platinum disc awards....

he's penned a concerto or two, let's hope he gets a piano one done someday.

I always find 19th century tonal music is better than 20th and 21st century tonal music.

Tough choice, I decided to pick for Alkan, Lyapunov, and Borodin.
