Classical Beginner
on: January 02, 2012, 09:04:27 PM
Hi All,
I am around a level 3 mostly self-taught.  I am interested in classical pieces.  Could someone please suggest some of the beginner classical pieces I might work on?  Thank you.
Frank

The first movement of the Moonlight Sonata is pretty easy - at least it's not too hard to hit most of the notes, making it really sound good might take some more skill.

"The first movement of the Moonlight Sonata is pretty easy - " I do not agree

" making it really sound good might take some more skill." -I do agree.

in seriousness to the op, i would reccomend trying a Clementi Sonatina, or even a Beethoven Sonatina if you really want to spend some qt with good old LVB.

just a suggestion, this piece is so charming and pretty

Burgmuller 25 progressive studies, Op 100.

There's a few nice pieces in there, and they would encompass from just below your level to just above if you learn them in order. If level 3 is accurate for you.

Bach's c major prelude in the Well Tempered Clavier should be doable, too.
