Chamber Ensemble with Piano
on: January 03, 2012, 12:13:28 AM
Since I still have another week of vacations I was thinking of undertaking the piano part of a chamber music work for example a piano quintet or trio as a small change to my normal studies...

What would you propose? keeping in mind that I'd prefer Classical to Late-Romantic Era trying to steer away from late 20th century pieces(I'm simply note in the mood for them)...

I don't have a problem on the difficulty level (currently working on fantasie-impromptu plus cramer and czerny op.299 trying to get them at the normal tempo with clean notes) even if it's higher than what I just gave as examples....

Any ideas would be welcome....

the brahm's piano quintet no 1 in f minor is so lovely.  added bonus there's a good but difficult solo piano transcription of the work as well so you could essentially transition from one into the other and knock both out with less than work than if they were different pieces entirely.

Medtner wrote a couple violin sonatas as well as a quintet.

Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach
