How to improve sight reading?

Hi all, I am suffering from learning a new piece everytime i try to play it smoothly and fast. But, my sight reading not so good, i am thinking any way to improve the sight reading? Any idea can suggest?

How did you improve your ability to read words? Also search pianostreet for sightreading and you will get a lot of results.

Here are some ideas i'd like to share with you and your sight reading problems: 1. You said every time you want to play it smoothly and fast you can't do it well you'll want to slow the song down a little bit to help you cause if you go to fast you'll never get the hang of it so try slowing down just a little bit.

 2. Now this has helped me a lot you should study the song notes before you play that can help to because your memorizing them as you go do this a few times and then try the song.

 I have a Question whats the timing on your song your playing that could make a huge difference I have a few Ideas about that so let me know what your timing is and I give you some of my Ideas :D
