also, a lot of people tend to play this very fast, and without pedal, i think it should be smooth and fast with pedal, just like the way Zimerman interprets it.

What do you mean with "rate this piece"? I think it's a wonderful piece how ever if that's what you mean :)

I totally agree. My favourite interpretation is Zimerman by far. What do you mean by rate it? If its what grade it is, then its around Grade 8 ABRSM
Chopin-Waltz Op.42
Brahms-Intermezzo Op.118 No.2
Field-Sonata No.1
Beethoven-Sonata Op.14 No.1
Bach-Prelude and Fugue in B flat No.21 WTC 1

I don´t think he means grade, and if that's what he means, I am not sure if it's grade 8 abrsm.. more grade 7.. Of course, playing it well needs a professional, so then no grade at all.. :P

My favourite performance is Murray Perahia.  I have the CD with the complete 2 sets, but here's a clip from YT:

I think this is supposed to be grade 7-8, but to play it properly is another matter. Schubert has a certain similarity to Mozart in this regard IMO.

There's a clip of the young Cziffra playing this on Youtube - I really enjoyed it.
