How long have you been playing this?  It's a very good start.  You have all the musical intentions and tone colors in place (to the extent that piano is capable!) and great finger facility.  Now you have to perfect it.  I would divide the etude into parts - maybe 5 or 6 - I haven't got the music with me, but divide it into musical parts.  Take each part and dedicate a good half-hour (or 20 minutes as Bernhard would say) to perfecting it.  Work hands separately, rythms, groups, etc. etc.  Always musically.  That is:  follow the phrasing UP and DOWN, where the notes are heading to.  Then run through it half - 3/4 speed and leave it.  Then do another group - either later or the next day.  See what happens.

Thank you Birba,
It's been about 5 or 6 weeks since I started to study this etude. And thank you very much, I'll exactly do what you say.

Hi Can,
this is my favorite Chopin's Etude, and your performance is beautiful!!! I'm ferociously envious  >:(  >:( .... Many pianists tend to play it too fast and too loud, so that it sounds just "noisy" and al last boring. You pay great attention to the musical content, to the dynamics (crescendo, diminuendo), that IMO are essential to create the "waves" effect, the "suspence"  of this gorgeous piece.
Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed it... Bravo!!!!

It's a shame that the piano isn't better - because we are so used to hearing this study played on great pianos - having said that- your playing shows much promise.
