What works did you study that improved your sight reading the most?

How bad can fast sight reading (without actually analyzing the music) ruin a piece? Like, if I sight read through a reasonably difficult piece a lot of times at full tempo without slowly analyzing the different aspects of it, how quickly will I ingrain bad habits that I'll have to spend lots of time fixing?

Do you mean what music did I play to get good at it? Well if that's what you mean then I'll tell you umm let's see first I did the lilacs in the moonlight have you ever heard of that one? And then went on to the wild horsemen song that one was a little tricky. That's when I felt "Wow I've never went that good before" Then I knew I had a talent for sight reading. Did that answer your question?

Ok next question: Well what you shouldn't do is don't go through the song so fast so that you won't have any bad habits to go back and try again. You should analyze the song so that you can get the feel for how it works. Hope that helped :)

What do you do if you suddenly stumble across some notation you haven't seen or something you are not sure of?
Funny? How? How am I funny?

Song... :'(
So two pieces and you could read everything? Wild Horseman is tricky? Its AMEB Grade 3 only. Well you must have talent then because I had to read thousands of pieces.

You just go through the song thoroughly and then play but if it doesn't sound right just study it again and make sure you got it right. Or tell your teacher if you have one.

Yes just two pieces. Well wild horseman isn't exactly tricky it's just when your sight reading it your eyes go on to another measure while your doing it.That's what I mean.
