Let this dawn have its day,
even if quiet, even if calm.
Let this day be your balm,
its fire refining and its gold to stay.
Let it silently open sweeping scenes,
reaching beyond the human view,
stirring pools, and waking anew
your hungry lions to celestial cuisines.
Turn not your gaze
from this looking glass,
to the colorless story,
and endless maze,
which were once your grass.
Deep riches be your glory.

My eyes, go to sleep,
venture toward lands and places
far away, where there are no traces
of aught but true love, deep.
My mouth, steal away
to sing in dreams and to my eyes
speak, until that unison dyes
my every thought in perfect sway.
Between dancing darkness and flirting
light, heaven's scent perfuming
each step from gate to gate,
my own dreams skirting
the rim of golden swooning,
finally, nestling into peace until sweet abate.

Yes. It's a hobby I've not indulged in since my senior year of college, about 9 years ago. But when I was young, I loved creative writing. I don't remember a full poem by heart, but I'll sift through my stuff and try to find one.

Yes. MANY BORING ONES. Here is a syllogism/poem. History is not the same as math, so being smart at history isn't necessarily being smart. Syllables: 8 8 16.
History is not mathematics.
It differs much from the subject.
Therefore, history nerds aren't necessarily mathematics nerds!
The first two lines add up to the third in both philosophy and syllables (8 +8=16)
I will write a Shakespearean Sonnet this night.
