Steinway upright piano
on: January 29, 2012, 08:26:46 AM
My grandmother just said she has a Steinway upright piano in storage.
Being a Steinway and an upright one at that, and because we are in Australia, i can only assume its kinda expensive....
Should i convince her to hand it down to me? How much is it worth? (im not selling it btw, Its worth will equate to how much it should be cared for)
Anyone had any experience in this field and can assist?

Depending on condition an upright steinway can go anywhere from free to £10,000 in a showroom.  Usual auction price about £1,000 - £3,000.  Check out www.pianoauctions.co.uk last sale.
