sound module / software question
on: January 29, 2012, 11:43:48 AM
I am progressing nicely learning on the piano on my Yamaha clp and just been looking around at other technology that I can add to my dpiano, like there are sound modules that you can add to the keyboard or there is software that you can use with the computer to add more voices , I am not sure which would be the best option? Adding new sounds modules or software from a computer? But I have been looking at the Roland BK-7m backing module - seems a lot more than just new sounds on it, if I am right it seems to have backing tracks to play along to , but as I am still new and learning piano should I just wait till I have advanced more in playing piano or would this be something I could use from the off to help me progress, or is it to advance that i would not really benifit from it yet?

Hmmm -the thing is technology advances very quickly -so you should maybe hold back a while - then again prices also inflate - so getting something now is an investment for the future -all you really need though is a laptop -this is always software upgradeable -as opposed to the Roland box which isn't I don't think.   Logic Pro or Cubase would be my choice of weapon, depending on the platform.

I am not the best when it comes to computers and I am still learning all about this new technology, I have a dell 1515 laptop and the speaks on it are not much, If you use sound software voices from a computer can you using the internal speakers on the digital piano? I ask this because I like using the speaks from the D piano it just feels better when playing the keys, If not then i would have to get some new speakers,  I also dont want to spend much time creating music on software i much prefer to play my piano than spend hours on software programs,

The basics are covered in this article -I guess Logic or Cubase will be overkill plus infinity if you just want to record the piano!  I imagined Garritan Personal Orchestra type setup|!

Here is an article though that should help
