how to play chromatic scale in winter wind etude?

hi, can someone suggest the best fingering for the chromatic in this etude?

524142 314231 (as found in the Paderewski edition alternate fingering) I count and play slowly when I first begin to play this piece, even if I can play it up to tempo, I count like: Clap,23456  Clap 23456 (the clap is mental). It's very helpful when getting them up to tempo. I found that Paul Barton's tutorial on this etude in Youtube is helpful.
