I picked 25/11 and 25/12. Those are my favourites I think.

Some others are...10/3, 10/4, 10/9, 10/12, 25/1, 25/7.

Same, 10/4, 25/11, but only one is real favourite :P, that would be 10/1 for me

I'm not surprised with Winter Wind's overwhelming lead.. It could be a piece on its own.
Ravel Jeux D'eau
Brahms 118/2
Liszt Concerto 1
Rachmaninoff/Kreisler Liebesleid

I agree, but Op.10 No.1? isnt that beautiful too? :)

Mines are: Op.10: 1,3,4,9,12, Op.25: 4,11,12

ps. Op.10 No.4 is really really great, and in my opinion one of the best etudes ever written, but my FAV is Op.10 No.1

Op 25 #3, and Op 25 #11.

The F major is such a unique study!  One of the few that is equally a left hand and right hand study, and he somehow makes a smooth transition from F major to B major...

Winterwind is.. well.. winterwind.  Jaw-dropping even after hearing it a zillion times.

-Prokofiev Toccata
-Scriabin Sonata 2

if you can't make up your mind there's always the Flagello tribute to Chopin, his piano etude "Homage To Chopn", has little elements and nods to lots of Chopin's musical moments in several of the etudes

Difficult to decide which my favourite ones are.
Op.25 No.7 is touching and sooooo emotional!
Op.25 No.12 is strong, beautiful and I love that it's sound reminds me of waves of an ocean!...
(you must have understood that I chosen these two!)

Other ones that I prefer:
Op.10 No.9
Op.25 No.5
Op.25 No.10
Op.25 No.11

By the way, each etude is special and unique!

I chose 10/3 and 25/11.

10/3 has always been one of my favorites. I heard it for the first time as a young child and the piece has been a part of me ever since.

25/11 is absolutely mind-blowing. I could hear it a million times and have my breath taken away every time.

Other favorites of mine are 10/1, 10/4, 25/4, and 25/12.

Do you mean Op.10 No.11 or Op.25 No.11?

Exact same choices here.  The list isn't very surprising, although I would have expected more of a battle between 10/1 and 25/12, ~20% each, with less votes for 25/11.

Ah, I have made a stupid mistake, somehow...I was referring to Op.25 No 11! I don't know how I got 12 in there...   :)

Impossible to choose just 2 of these pieces... perhaps I could choose my favourite 24!
