Where is the repeat in Pathetique 1st
on: February 05, 2012, 04:07:36 PM
Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question, but all the recordings on YouTube, etc, of Pathetique 1st momement have the return skipping the introduction and going straight to the Allegro
I've been playing it with return right to the Grave at the start. This makes the piece balanced to the non-return section which follows, if you see what I mean. Either way, on my music sheet, definitely no "dots" before the Allegro to indicate the return there.
Is this kind of thing normally up to the player to interpret??
Thanks, T.

Sorry. Ignore post
I just did a search. This question has been answered multiple times on the Forum.... it is up to the player to choose, apparently.
