Shostakovich - Waltz No. 2 on Piano

There isn't really lot of solo piano adoptions of this beautiful piece, so I came up with my own version. Hope you enjoy.

Slava,

The two Jazz suites are among my favorite pieces by Shostakovich, and I love your arrangement and playing of that movement!

Did you know that the 2nd Jazz suite is now called 'Suite for Variety Orchestra.' Apparently, the original 1938 score was lost during WWII and the one we know of today somehow got stuck with the common title.  A piano score of the real one was discovered about 10 years ago, and was orchestrated for ensemble performance.

Although I haven't looked recently, I have yet to find a recording of the new 2nd Jazz suite and can't wait to hear it.

Thanks for posting your arrangement!
Haydn: Sonata in C No. 35
Scarlatti: K. 1, 380, 443
Blasco de Nebra: Sonata V
Handel: Fantasia in C G.60
Couperin: La Reville Matin
Rameau: La Dauphine
Pachelbel, Trabaci, Frescobaldi: Various

Thank you for your feedback! Yes, I was surprised to discover the name change.. And certainly looking forward to hearing a new 2nd Jazz suite. I am sure it is going to be gorgeous.

So where is the sheet music for this?   I would like to try it!

Thanks,

Steve
