Haha.

Liszt...most things. I've mentioned a fair chunk of it all in other threads so I won't get into that here. However, a piece i've (finally) started listening to lately is the Czárdás macabre. Absolutely amazing.

Many many many!!

Too many to choose so here's what I've been listening to tonight:

Rachmaninoff- Isle of the Dead
Debussy- De l'aube ŕ midi sur la mer
Ravel- Daphnis et Chloe

Didn't have to be a piano piece? If so, I recently fell in love with Knussen's Prayer Bell Sketch and Persepolis from Danielpour's Enchanted Garden Bk 2. If I was to go into pieces that have been in the love list for a long time, I'd be here all night.

I wouldn't have thought I would have a hard time with this one, but I'm having to think a little more than the other two related topics.

So my favorites of my favorites?

Mahler: Symphony No. 6
Haydn: Keyboard Concerto in D (No. 11)
Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 2
Handel's Organ Concertos
Glass: Einstein on the Beach
Beethoven's late quartets
Stravinsky: Symhony of Psalms
Mozart: Piano Sonata K 332, Jupiter Symphony

Hmm, that sure ended up a pretty random list.
Haydn: Sonata in C No. 35
Scarlatti: K. 1, 380, 443
Blasco de Nebra: Sonata V
Handel: Fantasia in C G.60
Couperin: La Reville Matin
Rameau: La Dauphine
Pachelbel, Trabaci, Frescobaldi: Various

I've been listening to some of the stuff y'all mentioned that I'm not familiar with.  That Auerbach drexo suggested gave me goose pimples!  Short piece, but I love it!

I cannot believe this thread is being responded to.

It was supposed to be a joke.

...well, congrats on your failure, I guess?

Thanks to you, at least I now have some Thalberg and Auerbach to explore, not to mention, I think, the meaning of your username  :)
