Overplayed as it is, Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano sonata is probably my favorite Russian Sonata of all time. Heck, it's probably my favorite 20th century sonata of all time.

Another overplayed favorite, Chopin's 3rd is probably my favorite Romantic sonata of all time.

And then my favorite classical sonata would probably be Mozart's 2-piano sonata in D.

And my favorite violin sonata is Franck's, my favorite Cello sonata Chopin's.
Ravel Jeux D'eau
Brahms 118/2
Liszt Concerto 1
Rachmaninoff/Kreisler Liebesleid

I like those a lot too :)

Since I unfortunately have a strong dislike for the violin sound, I much prefer the Franck sonata arranged for cello, it's one of my favorite cello/piano pieces.

Appassionata-Beethoven
2nd Piano Sonata-Chopin

I'm beginning to enjoy the Op10 No.1 sonata by Beethoven, but i dont think it is a 'great' sonata.
Chopin-Waltz Op.42
Brahms-Intermezzo Op.118 No.2
Field-Sonata No.1
Beethoven-Sonata Op.14 No.1
Bach-Prelude and Fugue in B flat No.21 WTC 1

Off the top of my head, I would say Beethoven sonata no 32 along with Scriabin sonata no 2.
