My piano playing ended tonight forever
on: February 12, 2012, 02:36:37 PM
Hi. Worst thing that could happen to a pianist happened to me.
My little finger froze and turned blue and it feels nothing maybe something small.
it froze from end of the finger.
I can move the finger and play piano but I cannot feel what my little finger touches.
The doctors said it might recover fully.
its good news for me that the finger wont be amputated but Im still afraid that my finger wont feel anything anymore.

Well anyway piano playing was fun till now.

Come on.  Where there's a will, there's a way.  Nothing stopped Django Reinhardt.  Besides there's a whole wealth of one hand stuff.

I'm sure your pinky will recover....dont' be so pessimistic!!!!
Medicine  has made huge progresses, we are no more in 19th century.
You'll still have fun playing the piano, maybe better than ever after this frightening experience!!!

You must have never seen the pianist on youtube who plays with his feet because his arms were amputated. The quote "Where there is a will there is a way" takes new meaning when you consider his situation.

Nerve damage takes weeks or months to recover... but the body is strong... have faith. I once had nerve damage in my feet and couldn't lift my feet for almost six weeks, but it eventually fully recovered. For now, just be patient, and keep playing!

You'll heal don't worry it hasn't ended forever.. One time I had a piece that I got frustrated and didn't want to keep going. Well I got encouraged to keep going and I did and got through the piece.
But Jesus looked at them and said "With man this is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible!"<br /><br />~Jesus Matthew 19:26
