Brahms 51 exercises dumb question

Does anyone know, specifically, what aspects of technique the Brahms 51 exercises improve on? i.e. arpeggiated octaves, etc. PLEASE!
I'm asking this dumb quesiton because I can't tell what is being studied in the music when I look at the sheet music.
At my teacher's place he/she demonstrated a few of the exercises occasionally.
And also, can anyone tell me what exercise(s) work on wrist/forearm rotation?
I don't know much about Brahm's 51 exercises so please don't ridicule me if the wrist exercise thingy doesn't exist.

The Alfred's Masterworks edition has a brief analysis of each. Can't vouch for its accuracy or adequacy.
