How to compose in the style of Vivaldi?
on: February 15, 2012, 01:22:43 PM
Hello,
Vivaldi is, to me, the greatest composer to have lived. Baring in mind that I don't listen to any music past 1750 - it's too modern for my liking.
So I've started composing in the style of Vivaldi. I've included harmonious melodies, scalic passages. However, is there anything fundamental I should know that I should bare in mind when composing for strings?
I've never studied his music before but I get the idea his music is very linear compared to Bach's. Here's a quick composition I made for violin. It took me about 30 minutes and isn't complete. I've yet to complete the other instruments.
Please comment. Thanks!
