What piece am i ready for?
on: February 17, 2012, 05:42:00 AM
Hi, I have finished the next pieces (here I will post my progress of pieces):

- Bach's Minuet BWV Anh. 115 -
- Beethoven's Sonata Op.27 No.2 (1st Mvt.) -
- Chopin's Nocturne Op.9 No.2 -

Now I have a problem, I don't know what to learn!

Please I need a piece a bit harder because I want to improve my tecnique...
Sorry for my English, I'm from Argentina

By the way, thank you

Hi, I have finished the 1st Mvt. of Beethoven's Sonata Op.27 No.2 (Moonlight) and Chopin's Nocturne Op.9 No.2...

How about playing the second and third movements of the Moonlight Sonata?  The third movement is definitely a bit harder than the first movement.

You could try either Soler's Sonata no. 84 or Debussy's Doctor Gradus ad Parnassum. Both of them are very good for advancing in technique, and could be a nice next step from the two pieces you just learned.

Though, if you have a piano teacher, then you should probably ask them what to learn next as they are usually the best at making that decision.

Yes I'm working on the third but is much harder than the first... I started playing piano 1 year ago.
I was searching a piece that I could completely learn while I'm still working on the harder pieces...

Thank you!

I will try them, also is a good option to start playing other composers...

Thank you!

The second movement is easier - if you can stay awake while playing it :-).   AS for as short pieces maybe a Bach or Chopin Prelude (?)  Or some of the Beethoven Minuette or Eccosaises ?

Yes, you are right... I had forgotten the preludes (they are beatiful pieces).
Now I'm working on the first part of Chopin's Etude Op.10 No.3 (I know it's an advanced piece but I love this etude so much.. just trying it  ;D), this part isn't so hard...
