I have found an online piano lessons website that looks really reasonable and says that it can take me to the next level as I am only a beginner however it is just about $40. Is this reasonable?

I would not pay 39 cents for online lessons. This forum has been plagued with spammers and their latest rip off pile of crap with impossible claims. They are all worthless and could possibly have negative effects.

$39.95 would be better spent on 1 hour with a good teacher. You would learn more in that hour than you would in 10 years on any silly bloody online course.

We have many excellent pianists on this forum who give advice for nothing, so I would be more inclined to spend all your money on beer and hang around here for a while.

Again, wise advice, wholly endorsed by me (apart from the bit about wasting money on beer, of course!). You could even spend $39.50 on 20 minutes with a still better teacher!

Wholeheartedly agree with Thal.

Using the search function of this forum will be a better investment in your time, and it will not cost any money.  Spend your $39.95 on a good piano teacher.
Made a Liszt. Need new Handel's for Soler panel & Alkan foil. Will Faure Stein on the way to pick up Mendels' sohn. Josquin get Wolfgangs Schu with Clara. Gone Chopin, I'll be Bach

ok. thanks folks. I'll bypass that idea then. I will look for a good local piano tutor in my area and see what happens  :)

You can get a lot more than a good teacher at those rates.

Be that as it may or may not - and notwithstanding your self-evident authority on this byway of the topic - we were not discussing that here, so let's get back on topic, shall we?(!)...

Seymour Fink's video would cost a touch under this I'm not mistaken

........

I don't think there is anything wrong with online lessons.. assuming that the teacher has actually watched you play and is giving advice that is directly applicable to you..  I'm assuming that is not the case with the site in question.
