oh and by the way...does anyone know what kind of program I could use to make a video file out of these audios? Just one with various photos or whatever in it - I´d like to upload these things on youtube as well.

I use iMovie but you can use Windows Movie Maker as well, just select the photos that you like from your photo library and put the audio file underneath.

I am interested in your recordings, well, I am anyway sure they are great, because I have listened to some of your recordings in the past :) I have downloaded the first file, I like Szymanowsky. But my listening capacity is very limited atm, I hope I can listen and comment somewhen soon.

Hi fnork,

First, thanks for breaking your recordings out separately.  When they were first consolidated, for some weird reason, despite several attempts, I could not get past the Szymanowski--it would just keep repeating itself.  And I really wanted to hear the others, especially the Bartok and Debussy.  I should add that I've been listening to your recordings for years here and have always enjoyed your renditions.

The Bartok Etude was wonderful!  I had not heard it previously.  It's obviously a virtuoso piece.  While it offers the Bartok dissonance, his figuration almost makes the piece sound impressionistic.  The combination is gorgeous.  I'm going to listen to it again, as I really enjoyed your rendition.

To be honest, although I love Debussy's music and have recorded some of his works here, I've never quite warmed up to his etudes.  Your performance here has changed my view for the better.  My last teacher's teacher, Anthony di Bonaventura, loved these etudes and recorded the entire set.  This "Etude for Chords" spacially covers the entire keyboard.  I imagine that this is one that you almost need to be able to play with your eyes closed.  As I listened to the lyrical section, there were some subtle moments reminding me a little of "D'un cahier d'esquisses"  You played the piece masterfully.

YES !!!  the recording quality is professional level.  Makes listening much more pleasant.
Liked best the Chopin, Bartok and Debussy in that order, but find it difficult trying to
understand or feel the moods being projected by the pieces of Szymanowski.  Perhaps my
not being a pianist shows.  ;D  Excellent playing too!!  thanks.....

Great playing! Never heard the Szymanowski before but it is quite intriguing. I liked Nausicaa the best. How did the competition go? By the way are you still in Stockholm? Any plans for local performances?

Thanks everyone for the comments, nice to get some feedback. The Bartok etude is indeed somewhat impressionistic-sounding, while the outer sections of the Debussy etude almost share the percussive nature of some Bartok works, in a way. A pretty unusual Debussy piece, with a "eye-of-the-storm" section in the middle with almost nothing happening...

The competition went fine, thanks, I got positive feedback from the jury and was awarded a prize as well. Im not in Stockholm anymore, I do go there every now and then but I study in Helsinki, Finland, these days.
