What is your favourite venue/ place for hearing piano music
on: February 25, 2012, 11:50:21 PM
For me it is the Sydney Opera House, the most famous music/ performing arts venue in the world. I watched Lang Lang perform Rachmaninoff's 2nd and Kissin perform Grieg's A minor concerto there. The acoustics were excellent. So, what is your favourite venue for hearing piano music? If you wouldn't mind, tell us a bit about yoru venue.
The main concert hall, with a capacity of approximately 2500 people. In the centre of the image you can see one of the largest pipe organs in the world with over 10000 pipes. Of course, the stage, which is 'above' the seats, is where the pianist performs.

Another: City Recital Hall, Angel place.
It doesn't have as much seats as the Sydney Opera house, though. I think it has a capacity of around 1000 people. I watched Leslie Howard perform. It was a boring concert but the Beethoven 6 variations in F and the Glazunov sonata 1 lightened me up.
