Etude Magazine
on: March 01, 2012, 01:59:58 AM
I am looking for a specific issue of the Etude Magazine printed during the 1940s. Is there a database anywhere listing the compositions? The one I need has "Song of the North". Any help would be appreciated.

There is an index for 1883-1957, though it appears to be in copyright.

Details are here (which, if you are in the US, will also point to a library near you with a copy, if any): https://www.worldcat.org/title/index-to-music-published-in-the-etude-magazine-1883-1957/oclc/55535002

You can also google the title for eBook and hardcopies for sale.

The composer is James Francis Cooke. The Petrucci Library has minimal info on him. I got the information from Mark Thomas who has a huge collection of the Etude plus the Index. He also gave me the date of the magazine so I can start yet another search.
