I was about to throw in the towel as the thread's been trashed all to hell, but now, being accused of 'intent to collapse', I'm rolling on the floor with laughter!
So, after having spent a number of posts arguing in favour of this, the simple question of "why" is enough to make you throw in the towel? Why don't you provide a simple answer to such a simple question- assuming there is an answer that you feel makes sense? What is the value in bobbing the wrist around, rather than balancing it? What is the value in training yourself to habitually perform a movement that immediately becomes an active hindrance at faster speeds?
If you have no answer other than that you were told to do this, is that really much of a basis to put exclusive faith upon the method (and upon which to be closed-minded about more plausible alternatives)? It might be worth laughing about if you had the technique to play fast and precisely, but you don't. I think it's actually rather sad that you have closed your mind without first learning something effective for you.
