Advice to choose a Master Keyboard
on: September 20, 2004, 06:59:37 PM
Hi everybody,

Because it is presently impossible to find a "heavy touch keyboard" really portable, I am looking at those "Master Keyboards" that can be connected to a PC (via the USB interface for instance...).

Because I often bring my portable PC with me when I travel, they seem to be a good compromise. I do not expect neither the quality of sound nor the quality of touch of my piano but at least, they could allow me to keep on working on sight reading even when I am far from home...

In addition, they offer the choice between 49 and 61 keys which correspond to a 'manageable' length (80 cm to 1m) and weight (less than 5 kgs) for travelling.

So, my question: could somebody recommend me some good keyboards of that kind ?

Thank you very much in advance !

Mine is a Roland Pc180-A and works fine.
Its only controls are volume, octave and modulation (tremolo). Nowadays they sell them with lots of knobs and controls, so I reccomend you a simpler one if the only thing you're going to do (like me) is playing piano. Newest models are designed to compose with Cubase and soft like that.
Hope it helps  ;)
