College Audition Repertoire
on: March 07, 2012, 07:09:02 AM
Does this seem appropriate for college auditions... like USC, Peabody?
Is the repertoire advanced enough?
Bach Prelude and Fugue Book II No. 18 g#minor
Chopin Scherzo 4
Ginastera Sonata No. 1
Rachmaninoff Etude Op. 33 No. 4 in d minor
I'm still trying to decide on a Beethoven Sonata
I've been doing Op. 2 No. 3 for a long time, so I could do that...
But I think I'll just be really bored with it by the time auditions come around.
Mostly, I want to have a well-balanced repertoire that shows off my skills, not only technically but also musically. But I'm also worried about aiming too high? However, I still have 1 and half to two years to prepare, so I don't know.

Looks good to me. It's more about how you play then what you play, although of course you aren't going to play something easy =)
