What is the more effective fingering to use for this piece?

It's just basic chromatic scales, I guess.

Eg, the start goes

1313132121313132 etc

A very good excercise is to use 1-4-5 instead of 1-2-3 (in the right hand). It really strengthens that side of the hand, and increases 4-5 finger independance. I do the same in my left hand too, by practicing chromatic scales using fingers 3, 4, and 5.

What is the intended fingering?

what is it that you are meant to do?

On the version that I have, it listed the fingering and I played it first measure - 5,4,3,2,4,3,2,1.. then the second measure is 4,3,2,1,4,3,2,1... and you repeat.

Of course it isn't strictly a piano piece anywho, the Rach transcription uses the fingering I said (or that might be a different one)

The Cziffra one is just insane. <3

The 345 is a really useful fingering - for example playing the first bit as 434343 5454 343435 etc.
