i probably just need my morning coffee but favorite noct.s by whom, my bad for not having op # and keys memorized ?

i do love the poulenc nocturnes.

no 4 in c minor is so interesting, tonally, it's almost not in the key it's written in

also didn't all these 'favorite' posts get moved to another board? not complaining but i thought someone scrubbed the repertorie disc side of these polls? hmm no big deal to me i donn't get my 'manties' in a wod over it but i think it bugged more than 1 or 2 folks...

Indeed. It was the first piece I played that made me realise I loved classical music.

Why is the list only Chopin? :o

I mean, I love Chopin's Nocturnes, but there are lots of other good nocturnes out there.

Refreshing to see that the Op. 9 no. 2 has 0 votes.

My favorites (in order) - Op. 55 no. 1 in F Minor, Op. 48 no. 1 in C Minor, and the vastly underrated Op. 32 no. 1 in B Major

I've never understood why Op. 32 no. 1 is so neglected, it has this charm about it that I love. And yes, Op. 55 no. 1 is gorgeous and also underrated, as others have said (That opening :o ), and Op. 48 no. 1 is absolutely beautiful and well known in comparison to the other two.

SHIIIITTT I VOTED FOR THE WRONG ONE! I put Op. 62 no. 2 instead of no. 1... I see that I would have been the only one for no. 1 though.. hehe

I voted for op. 15 no. 1, op. 55 no. 1 and op. 9 no. 1. I wish I could've voted for op. 48 no. 2 also though. I think it is the most underrated of all the nocturnes.

15/1 is awesome... I love how it switches from a nice sweet melody to a fast dark mood in the middle  :)

Op 55,1 (my favourite, and I can even play it. nothing nicer than playing your favourite music, even if it is very badly)
Op 9,1
Op 9,2 (yes, it's overplayed, bla bla bla. still fantastic music, and the first piece by Chopin I fell in love with. There's a reason everyone's heard it)
