Mendelssohn - Rondo Capriccioso (Better Quality)
on: March 18, 2012, 03:37:47 PM
Hi to everyone! Well, as you may remember, three months ago (at the end of November) I put a video of one of my interpretations which was the difficult and virtuoso "Rondo Capriccioso" composed by Felix Mendelssohn (opus 14). It's a piece very used for the competitions due to its big technique and virtuosism and to its romantic contents (in some parts)

This is a recording much better done and you can appreciate the movement of the hands (that's is a very pretty visual thing on the pianists) and for that reason, I decided to put it on Youtue and now this is the first of my pieces with two recordings on YouTube  :)

I hope you like it!  ;)

In spite of acoustics which left a bit to be desired in the recording, your excellent almost flawless performance really came through. Very nicely done -- I enjoyed listening to your presentation very much. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much! I'm very happy you have enjoyed!  :)

And yes, acoustics are sometimes very annoying, but I think you can hear it more or less properly.  ;)

nice job!  i just played this in a concert and since it is fresh i have a few comments.

1) i personally think the opening is too slow and could flow more easily!
2) the rondo part is a bit too loud i think and could be softer and lighter that way it has more sparkle and more fantastic character. it could even be a bit faster.
3) the second subject is marked animato and should be a bit faster than the rondo theme, in terms of character it should be more fervent
4) at the sixteenth notes with the e major arpeggios and then diminished triads i don't hear the difference between forte and piano , it should be very obvious, and the articulation can also change to make it better contrast

you have a lot of precision and its good! i think it hsould be lighter and more fun! good job!
