Sneezing.

I have a cold so I've been sneezing lately and while playing,


So I was wondering if anyone has sneezed during a perfromance of any kind?

I sneezed while performing a duet in church once. Fortunately  it was during a rest and my duet partner wasn't fazed at all by it.

In a class recital I played Scriabin op.8 no. 12 with a cold and couldn't hear out of my left ear...yet my teacher praised the performance afterwards saying, "you should play with a cold more often..."

haha!! that reminds me of the time I performed Sonetto 104 Del Petrarca with this amplifier sitting next to me.  The damn thing was buzzing so bad, I couldnt even hear the sounds coming out of the piano I was playing.  Afterwards, everyone including my teacher really seemed to enjoy the performance.  I only wish I understood why..

Maybe you can try holding a sneeze to a loud part and use it to accentuate chords!

I occasionally sneeze while practicing and it can be annoying!  However, I have never sneezed while actually performing as far as I can recall.

How about coughing? I had a terrible cough once, the kind where you get that icky, suffocating mucus in your throat, and was playing Pachebel's Canon in a string ensemble. I tried to not cough the whole pice, and I made it...almost. As we were holding the last note, I hacked really loud. Well, the audience thought it was pretty funny.

I think a fart can easily be drowned out by the music(unless it's extraordinary loud)

Sound can drown out smell only under extreme circumstances, i.e. when it is so loud that all other senses lock up.

Well, if you wanted help winning a competition, you could let one out carefully so it doesnt make any noise (SBD - Silent, but deadly) just as you are getting up from the piano bench and the next competitor is on their way to the piano. haha
and then they will sit there like,  :-/
