Quentin Kim - Prelude and Fugue in c# minor
on: March 23, 2012, 10:08:08 PM
here is a lovely short prelude and fugue in c# minor, written probably 8 years ago and dedicated to ME!  ;D a melancholic piece with a pretty strict three-part fugue, though the prelude is very free.
if you are interested in quentin's music, i also recorded here his 4-mvmt excellent sonata:

and his variations on an ancient korean melody which i love, and which are a bit simpler than these other pieces:

Enjoy!

How fun to have a piece dedicated to you, you must feel greatly honored. I like the fugue the most, and it reminds me of the fugue in the same tonality from the wtc bk 1, but with a much more modern sensibility. As always your playing is first rate. Thanks!

interesting comparison! well it is definltely composed with a pretty strict (and accomplished!) fugal technique. nice to hear from you again!
