Two Improvs: Fustration and Nocturne
on: April 01, 2012, 07:37:34 PM
Fustration was my attempt of conveying the title, and Nocturne I named after listening to it and thinking there was a nocturnal night time feel to it. Let me know what you think.

Thanks

I enjoyed both pieces, but the nocturne really impressed me compositionally. It had these clear contrasting sections. It is not always easy to do that. Great job  :) Not to mention, the intensity of the Nocturne is really striking. There's a part in it which reminds me a little of a hungarian dance. very cool.

The frustration piece made me think of Schumann for some reason, I could easily believe it was a sonata, fantasia or etude by him.

...did I hear a small fragment of Rachmaninoff's C# minor prelude in one part that turned into your own ideas?

Chopinatic, I am absolutely blown away by these masterpieces of improvisation. The intensity! The musicality! I should really ask you to write me a piece! Very impressive!
