left hand pain

Hi
Sorry I asked this question in student corner but didn't get any response.
When I am practicing waldstein sonata bar 22 my left hand begin to sore it feels awkward My fingering is 5-3-1; c - e - a#

There are only 8 repetitions, though they come at the end of the tremolo section.
Sounds to me like you simply need to build your endurance. The only other thing I can think of is to move your hand in a bit to accomodate the a#, and raise the wrist a tiny bit.

To build endurance, simply play the entire tremolo section several times in a row at a bit slower speed, still utilizing the correct muscles until you get tired... not in pain, or strain, but tired in a good way. The section you mention may always feel a bit awkward, but with sufficient endurance, it will not pose a great problem.

Very often it is just enough to change fingers for more comfortable ones. Try if 2-4-1 works better for you.
