After reading some other posts about the politics of it all, is this a friendlier place to post?  This is my own original composition.  Thanks for listening. :)

Ah, what lovely dark, modal atmosphere. I relish in this type of sound! Depending on your tastes, you could go some different directions from here. Maybe you could change up the riff you're playing, just a little bit, each time it plays (more than in the recording). Maybe play with more rubato, as well. Also, maybe you could experiment with chromaticism. I love atmosphere like this, but when you start throwing in "wrong" notes sometimes you can augment that atmosphere to new heights. Good luck, hope you stick around.

Have you heard Yann Tiersen? He's another composer who has a knack for making simple, modal style riffing feel really powerful and majestic: Rue de Cascades  You might like him. Also by him: the Piano

Yes I know the music from The Piano well but actually had never seen the animation before.  Thanks for directing me towards it.  He has composed some great music.

Take Your Seat! Trifonov Plays Brahms in Berlin

“He has everything and more – tenderness and also the demonic element. I never heard anything like that,” as Martha Argerich once said of Daniil Trifonov. To celebrate the end of the year, the star pianist performs Johannes Brahms’s monumental Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Philharmoniker and Kirill Petrenko on December 31.
