How to smoothly change teachers in the same college
on: April 09, 2012, 06:14:05 PM
Hello Piano Affectionados,
I just had a studio class with a different teacher than my own (they're married), and I felt that I learned a lot more in those 15 minutes than I had with my current teacher. I've observered her in lessons and played for her two times prior, and I am set in my decision, but I need advice on how to swiftly change without the other taking it too personally. Like I said, my current teacher is married to the one I want to study with, and I don't want any bridges burned.
Thank you,
Paul

really in most cases it won't be bid deal. just express to both of them, heck they're married so get them both to an appointment in the same room and unpack it with them, most likely they will be more than fine with it, usually they want what's best for the student and if it's thought that switching is best, they should be more than willing to agree with out any ill feelings.
